Wolves interested in a deal for League Two wonderkid

According to the Express & Star this morning, Wolves are keeping tabs on Northampton Town striker Ivan Toney after the youngster impressed with his performances for the Cobblers during the 2014-15 season.

The 19 year-old broke into the first team last campaign making 44 appearances appearances in all competitions and managed to bag himself ten goals, with eight of those coming in the league.

Toney has spent the entirety of his short career with Northampton and made his first team debut in an FA Cup tie against Bradford in 2012 – an appearances which made him the youngest player ever to play in a senior game for the Cobblers.

Last season, Wolves had a £500,000 bid accepted for the striker but the deal fell through due to Toney failing a medical.
