Leeds to move for Brazilian Serie A winger?

Leeds United are attempting to fill the vacant left wing role in the squad by looking at Catania winger Raphael Martinho.

With boss Uwe Rosler identifying this position as one that needs a new recruit, owner Massimo Cellino has looked to his native Italy and is attempting to come to an agreement to bring the Brazilian to Elland Road.

Featuring 20 times in Serie B last season, Martinho scored 3 times and helped out with 5 assists. In total, the winger has featured 50 times in Italy’s second division, with 13 goals and 9 assists to his name.

Having been previously part-owned by both Hellas Verona and Catania, the 27-year-old has featured in Serie A. In Italy’s top flight, Martinho has 49 appearances, with 2 goals and 2 assists on his record.

As Inside Futbol’s report suggests, Martinho is ‘renowned for his pace and dribbling ability, the winger may be an attractive proposition for a Leeds team that have been accused of lacking width in recent seasons.’

Leeds are also set to announce the signing of Tom Adeyemi from Cardiff City, the 23-year-old will join on-loan with the view to a permanent deal.

In addition to Adeyemi, The72 understands that trialist Adam Drury has impressed boss Uwe Rosler and will join the club as they travel to Austria and Norway for a training camp and fixtures against Eintracht Frankfurt and 1899 Hoffenheim.
