Preston prove to be Keane on Man United youngster

The youngster has moved to Deepdale on a season-long loan and he becomes the Lilywhites third signing of the summer.

The 22-year old played on loan for Sheffield Wednesday last season, where he featured 13 times and managed to bag 3 goals. He has also had previous stints on loan at QPR and Wigan and he will now be able to test himself in the Championship with PNE.

The forward has represented England at all levels from Under-16 to Under-21 level, scoring seven goals in 30 England appearances. Added to this, he has been brought up in Man United’s youth ranks and has even featured for the Red Devils on one occasion, playing six minutes in a 3-2 loss to Blackburn Rovers. Last season, Keane played 13 games in the Championship for Sheffield Wednesday, marking three goals; he also played seven games in the U21 Premier League for his parent club, scoring three goals and laying on two assists. His most productive season was the 2011/12 season when the young Englishman scored 15 goals and provided seven assists in 21 appearances for the Manchester United reserve team.

Therefore with this relative experience already at a young age, he could prove to be a good addition to the Lilywhites squad over the next season.

He typically plays up-front but he has also been deployed as an attacking midfielder for Wednesday before and could potentially play in that role for PNE.
