Swansea want Reading winger

Swansea are interested in Reading winger Hal Robson-Kanu but are refusing to meet the £4 million valuation set by Reading boss Steve Clarke.

Swansea manager Garry Monk is looking to add a winger to his squad and has identified Reading’s Hal Robson-Kanu as one of his prime targets however the two clubs can’t agree on a fee.

It is thought Swansea are unwilling to match Reading’s price as the winger’s contract is entering it’s final year and Robson-Kanu could be snapped up on a free transfer this time next year.

Robson-Kanu, who can also play as a striker, has spent his whole career at Reading, leaving only for loan spells in 2008 and 2009 to Southend United and Swindon Town respectively.

Reading will not be keen to let the winger go after his impressive form recently, most notably for Wales in Euro qualifying Group B.  Because of this form, resulting in Wales entering the top 10 of FIFA rankings for the first time, Reading are demanding a bigger fee.  With much of the transfer window left, a club may yet meet this higher valuation.
