The Birmingham Mail have today reported that Leicester City have emerged as favourites to sign Bakary Sako with West Brom and and Aston Villa also keen on a deal for the Mali international.
Sako himself has said that he ‘wants to play in the Premier League’ and so, despite offers from abroad, he looks likely to sign with a top flight English club.
His agent has told Sky Sports that a decision on his future is going to be made ‘very soon’ with a new contract at Molineux a very unlikely outcome.
The 27 year-old had the best season of his Wanderers career last campaign as he netted 15 goals and contributed ten assists in a season which saw Wolves miss out on the play-offs by goal difference.
After starting his career with French Ligue 2 side Chateauroux and gaining a reputation as a pacey winger, a move to Ligue 1 club Saint-Etienne came about where the free agent went on to play over 100 games.
Sako signed for Wolves in 2012 for a fee of £2.2 million, going on to score 36 league goals in 118 games before the expiration of his contract this summer.
