Hull City chase Newcastle wide man

Steve Bruce has identified Ryan Taylor as a target as he prepares Hull City for life in the Championship.

Taylor worked under Bruce at Wigan, before leaving to join Newcastle United but his six years in the North-East was plagued by injury meaning he failed to assert himself at St James Park.

He is now a free agent after his contract expired at the end of the season.

According to the Daily Mirror, Bruce has lined up Taylor for a summer move and is willing to gamble on Taylor despite his poor injury record.

City, however, will face competition for Taylor’s signature from numerous clubs including Queens Park Rangers and Nottingham Forest.
