Stockley Ordered In As Blues Boost Squad

Portsmouth have made their ninth signing of a busy summer by bringing in Jayden Stockley on a six-month loan.

21-year-old Stockley has arrived from Premier League AFC Bournemouth spent last season on loan at League Two Luton Town where he made thirteen appearances and scored three goals.

The attacker spent his youth career with Bournemouth and famously became a substitute a just 15 when Eddie Howe’s side were in the mist of an injury crisis.

Stockley serves as extra competition to a small striking pool. He joins experienced Matt Tubbs, Academy prospect Conor Chaplin and new signing Adam McGurk at the South Coast club and is keen to make an impression. He told the official website:

“It’s always good to blow away the cobwebs after the summer break, get a ball at your feet and express yourself. That first league game on August 8 is not far away now and I think that’s something we’re all looking forward to.”
With just four days to go until their first pre-season game, Pompey are still looking light in some areas of the pitch, especially in defence. However, the signing of Stockley now allows manager Paul Cook to bring in players to these other areas.
