Brentford and Sheffield Wednesday lose out in race for prolific Dutch striker

Sheffield Wednesday’s transfer target Michiel Kramer has snubbed the Owls and instead taken an offer he ‘could be not pass up’ to play in the UAE Pro League with Abu Dhabi side Baniyas.

The towering striker had previously been linked with a move to England with Charlton, Brentford and Sheffield Wednesday (who made an offer for the forward which was rejected) but the 26 year-old has favoured a move to the Middle East.

After finishing as the Eredivie’s third top scorer last season with ADO Den Haag, Kramer announced he was leaving the club which drew attention from sides all over the world.

Starting his career with NAC Breda, the 6’5″ attacker was recognised for his goal scoring exploits during a four year stint with Volendam where he scored 39 goals in 105 games.

In an honest interview, Kramer announced the reason for his move was, unsurprisingly, financially motivated:

“This offer was financially attractive. This I could not pass up.”
