As revealed earlier and written about on The72, the proposed transfer of Birkir ‘Icelandic Thor’ Bjarnason from Pescara to Torino has fallen through at the last minute. It seems that ‘personal terms’ were the stumbling block with Bjarnason wanting €500,000 (£357,000) per year, whilst Torino were offering only €450,000 (£321,000). In terms of a weekly wage cost, the higher level that Bjarnason is wanting is equivalent to £6,865 per week; or £29,750 per month.
The news that Leeds have put in a higher offer, showing intent to buy the goal-scoring midfielder, has reignited the interest of Leeds United fans on Twitter.

Leeds are in the market for a central midfielder and left winger, two positions that Bjarnason can play in #lufc #mot

Whatever happens with this one, and something is sure to do so, it will be one worth keeping an eye on. Bjarnason to Leeds United, has a certain ring to it but what I am most looking forward to is the sound of those Leeds United fans who lambasted his decision to head to Torino gulping down Ma’s Humble Pie should this one cross the line.
