Ex-Leeds United forward Harry Kewell is set to return to the Premier League as coach of Watford’s under-21’s, reports the Daily Mail.
Kewell, 36, retired from football last season after spending the final years of his career at A-League side Melbourne Heart. The Australian is now set for an immediate return to football in a coaching capacity, although Watford are not the only ones interested in his services.
Another one of Kewell’s former clubs, Liverpool, are looking to bring more faces into their youth development set-up. Kewell spent five years in Merseyside and was a part of the 2005 Champions League winning squad.
Despite the interest from Anfield, Watford are confident of securing his signature as they aim to secure Premier League status and establish themselves as a top flight club.
Kewell was a popular figure at Elland Road during his spell at the club. This respect was lost with most Leeds fans however, when he moved to Turkish club Galatasaray in 2008.
As a well-known player to many, Kewell looks set to be a part of the Premier League in some capacity from the upcoming season.
