News only just breaking, via the Yorkshire Evening Post’s Phil Hay (see Tweet – below), indicates that Leeds United and ex-head coach Neil Redfearn are about the part company. Both sides are apparently in talks to bring about a mutually agreeable end to Redfearn’s six-and-a-half year tenure at Elland Road.

This breaking story has already been broached by The72, where it was mentioned that Redfearn is “much-respected” and that he is also “credited with the nurturing the current crop of youngsters breaking into the Leeds United first team”. Such is the standing that Neil Redfearn has within the hearts and minds of a large number of Leeds United fans, the reaction on Twitter has been understandably both swift and vocal.
Twitter reacts to Redfearn news.

Leeds United doesn't deserve Neil Redfearn. Absolutely disgusted. #lufc

Best of luck to Neil Redfearn he will get treated better elsewhere and will deserve it. Served #lufc very well.

Things seem a hell of a lot better, and I think redfearn needed to go now. But Cellino hasn't changed. You can't polish a turd.

Quite eruditely and succinctly put,
Shit happens in football but way Redfearn has been treated is a disgrace considering what he has done for us in the last 6 1/2 yeaes

Perhaps the final word should be left with Graham Bean (@FootballFactors), ex-Leeds United consultant sacked by Massimo Cellino on September 26,

As with almost everything Leeds United, you can bet that there is more to come on this story.
