Derby face competition for signature of former Liverpool starlet

Sky Sports have reported that Hull City are going to be holding talks today with Tom Ince over his future and whether or not that future lies at the KC Stadium.

Derby have been long time admirers of the 23 year-old and he spent the second half of last season on loan with the Rams – adhering himself to the fans as he netted 11 league goals in just 18 games.

Newcastle are also interested in signing the winger on a permanent basis with new Magpies boss Steve McClaren the one responsible for the loan deal that saw Ince at Derby last term.

Ince started his career on Merseyside with Liverpool and spent three years with the Reds before moving away to find more regular first team football.

A move to Blackpool, where he spent three years and made over 100 appearances, were Ince’s most successful seasons to date: netting 18 goals in the 2012-13 campaign, and seven goals in the 2013-14 season.

His performances during the 2012-13 season earned him a place in the PFA Championship Team of the Year as well as being awarded the Football League Young Player of the Year.

After the expiration of his contract with the Seasides, Ince joined Hull City on a free transfer but only made seven appearances in the Premier League after being sent out on loan to Nottingham Forest and to Derby.
