Bolton offer a trial to former Tottenham international midfielder

The Daily Mail have reported that Bolton boss Neil Lennon has offered a trial to free agent Wilson Palacios with the Honduran international desperate to get his career back on track.

30 year-old Palacios failed to make a single appearance last season for Stoke which led to his release this summer after four seasons with the Potters.

The midfielder, who prefers to take a more defensive role in the middle of the park, started his career in his home country with Honduran side Olimpia for whom he made over 130 appearances over six years.

A move to Wigan came about in 2008 after a short loan spell with then-Premier League side Birmingham, and Palacios played for two seasons at the DW Stadium before moving to North London club Tottenham for a huge £12 million fee.

Three seasons with Spurs preceded a £6 million move to Stoke City but Palacios constantly struggled to fitness and failed to secure a regular spot in the Potters starting line up.

Over four seasons with Stoke in the Premier League, Palacios made just 38 appearances. Internationally the 5’10” player has enjoyed more regular playing time having represented his country 95 times.
