Reading and Cardiff in chase for Hull City winger

According to reports, Hull City winger Stephen Quinn has rejected a contract and is in talks with multiple clubs including Reading and Cardiff City.

The Republic of Ireland international began his career at St. Patrick’s after going through the youth system. He made one appearance just after his 18th birthday against Shamrock Rovers. He then joined Sheffield United in 2005.

He made his competitive debut for The Blades in League Cup match against Shrewsbury in September 2005 and then went out on loan to MK Dons and then Rotherham for the rest of the season. Sheffield United were promoted and Quinn then got his chance to prove himself in the Premier League. Taking part in 15 games and scoring 2 goals, he won the Young Player of the Year award and signed a new deal at Bramall Lane. After playing more than half of his career appearances for United, he will be regarded as a hero to many Blades fans for the performances he put in at the club.

On August 31st 2012 he signed for Hull City for an undisclosed fee. His first start came against Bolton Wanderers and was marked with a goal in a 3-1 victory. The move to Hull became a good choice for the Irishman as he made his first appearance for his country and also claimed Hull’s Player of the Year award, his second to date. Last season he took part in 28 league games only scoring 1 goal as The Tigers were relegated from the Premier League.

Cardiff and Reading along with other teams will be vying for his services for the coming season as the 29 year old has bags of Championship experience and can give vital moments needed for a clubs promotion to the Premier League just like he did with Hull City.
