Dutch giants targeting Championship wonder-kid

Reports today from the Daily Mail claim that famous Netherlands outfit Ajax are planning a bid to bring Fulham’s Moussa Dembele to the club as the youngster enters the final year of his contract at Craven Cottage.

One of the biggest clubs in the Netherlands, Ajax have won the Champions League four times, the KVNB Cup (the equivalent of the FA Cup) 18 times, and the Eredivisie an incredible 33 times.

In recent years the club has churned out some of the worlds biggest talents names such as Luis Suarez, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Wesley Sneijder and Dennis Bergkamp all plying their trade for Ajax during their careers.

Dembele has been the center of much transfer speculation this summer with Everton and Italian side Genoa having already expressed their interest in the 18 year-old striker.

The former Paris Saint-Germain player joined Fulham in 2012 and has been prolific for their reserve team – leading to improved playing time for the senior squad last season as he made ten appearances in the Championship.

A current France U19 international, Dembele spoke earlier this month about the interest in him;

“I’m very flattered by the interest from top level clubs. I always want to improve, but I love Fulham and I respect Fulham, so I work hard to do my best. I want to take my time with my agent, my family and the people around me to make the right choice.”
