According to the Express and Star, Wolves are in battle with Burnley for the signature of Nottingham Forest forward Jamie Paterson with the youngster entering the final year of his contract at the City Ground.
The 23 year-old struggled for first team action last season under both Dougie Freedman and Stuart Pearce, making just four league starts and being used 12 times from the bench.
Burnley have already submitted an undisclosed bid for the player but it is reported that Wolves see him as a perfect replacement for the likely-departing Bakary Sako.
Known for his pace and dribbling abilities, Paterson signed for Forest in 2013 and has gone on to make 64 appearances for the Championship outfit, netting a respectable 13 goals.
His first seasons with Forest during the 2013-14 may prove to be his most fruitful if he were to move away as he scored 12 goals in 39 games in all competitions.
Starting his career with Walsall, Paterson rose to prominence during the 2012-13 season where, in League One, he managed to score 12 goals in 46 league games for the Saddlers, leading to a £1 million move to Nottingham.
