Former Celtic attacking midfielder snapped up by Blackpool

Blackpool have today completed the signing of Scotland U21 international midfielder John Herron on a two-year contract following his release from Scottish giants Celtic earlier this year.

The 21 year-old had been at Celtic Park since he was just eight years old and spent 13 years with the Bhoys, during which time he made just two appearances.

A loan spell in January 2015 to Scottish Championship side Cowdenbeath provided Herron with just five games in a season which saw the Miners get relegated.

This lack of first team football led to his release from Celtic upon the expiration of his loan deal.

Highly rated at international level, the Scot has been capped at an impressive seven youth levels; U15, U16, U17, U18, U19, U20 and is current member of the U21 setup. During his international exploits Herron has made a total of 36 appearances for his country.
