Rangers agree deal for Wigan defender

Rob Kiernan could be on his way to Rangers, according to the BBC.

The 24-year old was wanted by Birmingham but the move fell apart at the last minute and he is now in talks to make the move to Scotland.

Rangers have had a bid for Kiernan accepted by Wigan and the player and club are now in talks over a possible move. If he does move to Ibrox, then he will become new boss Mark Warburton’s first signing.

The ex-Watford man had agreed a deal to join Birmingham (as previously mentioned) but after undergoing a medical at St Andrew’s, the move collapsed.

The club claimed they weren’t happy with all aspects of his medical but the player himself is claiming that he chose not to move to the Blues when he heard a move to Scotland was possible.

Either way, it now looks as if the Wigan man could soon be packing his bags and making the move to Rangers, with a deal close to completion.
