Wolves keen on a deal for Inter Milan’s £5 million youngster

According to the Birmingham Mail, Wolves boss Kenny Jackett is interested in a loan deal which would bring Inter Milan striker Samuele Longo to the West Midlands clubs.

The striker started his career with newly-refounded club A.C.D. Treviso 2013 who currently play in the Eccellenza – the fourth tier of Italian football.

After being signed as a 12 year-old by Treviso, Inter Milan acquired the striker in 2009 and bought the player outright for £5 million from Genoa who had co-ownership of the 23 year-old.

Since joining Italian giants Inter, Longo has been sent out on loan to various clubs including fellow Serie A sides Verona and Cagliari as well as Spanish outfits Espanyol and Rayo Vallecano.

Despite the large fee the Italian U21 international commanded, Longo has struggled to find goal scoring form since leaving Treivso and last term, while with Cagliari, he only managed to net two goals in 28 appearances.

Wolves are currently in the market for a striker with only Benik Afobe and Nouha Dicko being recognised strikers at the club.
