Ipswich set to capture Arsenal prodigy on loan

According to ESPN Football, Ipswich Town are close to a deal to bring Arsenal’s young talent Ainsley Maitland-Niles to Portman Road for the season.

The 17 year-old has attracted the interest of many clubs with Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger making it clear he wants to send the winger out on loan to get valuable first team experience, and Mick McCarthy’s Ipswich are in pole position to secure the deal.

Ipswich made the play-offs last season but were beaten by local rivals Norwich City leading to a summer of strengthening ahead of a another push for promotion to the Premier League.

Maitland-Niles has already donned the famous red and white of Arsenal as he made his first team debut in the Champions League game against Galatasaray, in the process becoming the second youngest player ever to have represented Arsenal in the prestigious competition.

Just a few days after his first team debut, the London-born forward made his Premier League debut; coming on for the final few minutes of a game against Newcastle United.

Highly rated at Arsenal and by England, Maitland-Niles has already represented England at U17 level and is a current member of the U18 setup.
