Fulham eyeing up move for former Manchester United and England striker

According to reports today, Fulham are looking to strengthen their striking options ahead of the next season by possibly making a bid for Crystal Palace’s Frazier Campbell with the 27 year-old seen as surplus to requirements at Selhurst Park.

The diminutive striker struggled for game time with the Eagles last season and was used mostly from the bench, managing to net just four goals in 22 games following his £900,000 move from Cardiff in 2014.

After spending the first five years of his career with Manchester United, enjoying prolific loan spells with both Belgian outfit Royal Antwerp and Hull City, Campbell moved to Sunderland in a transfer worth about £3.5 million to find regular first team action after donning the famous red of United just four times.

Although he was getting more game time Campbell found goals hard to come by during an injury-riddled four year stay at the Stadium of Light. 67 games provided just ten goals, with seven of those coming in his first season with the Black Cats.

Campbell received his first, and to date only, England call up in 2012 after a move to Cardiff reignited the striker into impressive form; netting seven goals in his first 12 goals for the Bluebirds.
