Leeds United agree permanent transfer deal for Sol Bamba

Leeds United have agreed a deal for Palermo defender Sol Bamba, according to tuttomercatoweb.

The 30-year-old centre back made 19 appearances for Leeds United on loan last season, scoring his only goal in the away fixture against Fulham.

As part of the loan deal, Leeds United had the option to sign Bamba on a permanent deal. Following discussions between Nicola Salerno and Sol Bamba, an agreement was reached and the Ivorian signs on a two-year contract.

Championship rivals Reading were interested in signing the defender, but an agreement was reached with Leeds first.

Bamba was a popular figure at Leeds last season and will be welcomed back by a large section of the Elland Road faithful. This will be Leeds’ 3rd signing of the summer with goalkeeper Charlie Horton signing yesterday and Motherwell Lee Erwin expected to be announced this afternoon.
