Robert Tesche is reportedly the subject of a £500k bid from Birmingham City.
The midfielder was an important player in the close of the season which Blues ended so strong, and Rowett has previously stated he would like to sign the players he had in on loan.
Tesche scored two goals in twelve appearances from midfield for Blues and was a calming presence in the heart of the pitch.
The German fell out of favour under Dougie Freedman and may be leaving the club, and Rowett is keen to add the 28-year-old to his squad.
If the reports are true, it is positive not just for the fact that Blues are looking to add quality to the squad, but also because there may be some funds available for Rowett to improve the squad.
