Fresh on the heels of Leeds United making their first signing of young keeper Charlie Horton from Cardiff, the British-born American U23 stopper has turned to Twitter to thank The Whites for securing his signature in a move that is expected to see him challenging current Leeds incumbent Marco Silvestri for the #1 spot.

The news in signing the relatively unheard of and unheralded young keeper came on the back of Leeds adding Cardiff’s Richard Hartis to the backroom staff as goalkeeping coach. To further emphasise his eagerness to get to grips with things, Horton later released the following Tweet.

The news that Leeds have made a signing is being received positively by the fans who will no doubt be just as eager for the youngster to prove himself as he is to get started.
Pleased with the capture of up-and-coming keeper Horton. Alongside Taylor, we now have a right pair of Charlie's! (No offence lads). #LUFC

There is already criticism from some Leeds fans about new signing Charlie Horton.. Give the young lad a chance #lufc #mot

Leeds needed a second keeper and, with Southend gaining promotion, the signing of Daniel Bentley was looking more and more remote. Looks like Leeds have started the ball rolling with the American international youngster.
