Ex-West Ham defender George McCartney has been linked with a move to St. Andrews.
The Northern Irish international has over 100 appearances for the Hammers and Sunderland respectively but has been released this summer.
At 34 years old, McCartney is a very experienced and versatile defender who can fill in at either full back or at centre half, which is very handy in a small squad which may not be able to have a player as cover for every position on the field.
McCartney is one of a few players that Blues have been linked with, though they are yet to confirm any signings following the financial situation which plagues the club, which hopefully will be cleared up soon.
