Shrewsbury Town have announced the signing of midfielder Abu Ogogo on a two-year deal.
The 25-year-old is out of contract this summer and will depart Dagenham and Redbridge following 6 years at the club. Ogogo has made 251 appearances for the Daggers; scoring 10 and assisting 15.
The former Dagenham captain said that “I was at Dagenham for six years and thought it was time in my career that I moved on.
“After having a chat with the manager, I went home, thought about it and feel I have made the right decision.”
Ogogo is a product of the Arsenal youth academy but failed to make an appearance for the North London side. He spent a loan spell at Barnet where he made 9 appearances; scoring once.
He joins Mat Sadler and Martin Woods in signing for the Shropshire side this summer, as Micky Mellon looks to strengthen his team to allow them to be a competitive force in League One next season.
