Leeds starlet subject of £5 million Premier League bid?

Much interest this close-season has swirled around Leeds United’s youngster’s, and Sam Byram is the latest name to be linked with a move away; Sunderland are reportedly planning a £5 million bid for the 21 year-old.

The versatile full-back, who can also be deployed as a wing-back, is valued at Elland Road at about £8 million – a price tag which has dissuaded other interested clubs such as Liverpool and Newcastle.

This season Byram played 39 games for the Whites, which is his third for Leeds, scoring three and assisting one from his defensive position.

Signed as a youngster at just 12 years-old Byram has been with Leeds for ten years already and played in over 100 Championship games, winning several individual awards.

For the 2012/13 season, the English defender won Leeds United’s Young Player of the Year, Leeds United’s Fans Player of the Year, and Leeds United’s Players’ Player of the Year.

Likened to Real Madrid star Gareth Bale, Byram has consistently performed at a high level for the Whties and has quickly become an integral part of their squad.
