Derby County appoint Paul Clement as new Rams head coach

Derby County have appointed former Real Madrid assistant coach Paul Clement as their head coach after last month’s departure of Steve McClaren.

Clement has signed a three-year contract at the iPro Stadium in what is his first time taking charge at a club, having held coaching positions at Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea before.

Steve McClaren was sacked last month after finishing 8th in the Championship, despite leading the table for much of the campaign.  Derby had narrowly missed out on promotion the season before under McClaren, losing in the play-off final to QPR, having finished 3rd in the league.

Derby County can be found at 12/1 to win the Championship next season, and they are 7/2 to achieve promotion.
