Preston interested in Rangers midfielder

Preston North End are interested in signing Rangers midfielder Ian Black, according to the Daily Mail.

Black, 30, is out of contract this summer and has caught the attention of Simon Grayson, who wants to bring him to Lancashire.

The midfielder made 35 appearances in all competitions last season, 22 of those came in the Scottish Championship, scoring 3 goals and assisting 4.

Black has experience of English football, having been a part of the Blackburn Rovers academy, he signed a professional contract at the club but failed to make any senior appearances. He has also represented the Scotland senior side on 1 occasion.

Grayson is looking to bring a number of new faces to Deepdale next season as his side look to push up the Championship table. Ben Pringle has attracted interest from Preston recently and a permanent deal for striker Jermaine Beckford is also a priority for the club.
