Adams arrives at Sixfields

Northampton Town have signed Bury midfielder Nicky Adams on a free transfer after he was named “available for transfer” on The Shakers’ retained list.

Adams was a regular for David Flitcroft’s men last season, appearing 44 times and scoring once in the 2-0 victory over Cambridge United back in November. Despite helping his side win promotion to League One, he was deemed surplus to requirements at Gigg Lane.

The 28 year old has also enjoyed spells at Rochdale, Leyton Orient, Brentford, Crawley Town and Rotherham United. The midfielder becomes Chris Wilder’s second summer signing following the arrival of Alfie Potter on Wednesday.
