Davies agrees new two-year Barnsley deal

Barnsley goalkeeper Adam Davies has put pen to paper on a new deal at Oakwell.

The 22-year old is now tied down until 2017 but there is an additional option in the contract to extend his deal for an extra year until June 2018.

Davies originally joined the Tykes from Sheffield Wednesday last year and over the course of the 2014/15 season he managed to play 25 times and bag 10 clean sheets.

It is a decent start to life at the club and boss Lee Johnson clearly believes he has more to give to the team over the next few seasons.

Speaking about the move, he told the Yorkshire Post:

“I’m really happy to have signed a new deal. I’m really settled here and feel I’ve improved my game last season. I want to kick on now and hopefully next season we can push on for promotion.”
