Blues Set To Miss Out On Striker

Recently released Sheffield Wednesday forward Gary Madine was apparently a target for Blues; but is set to join Bolton instead.

Madine is a tall centre-forward who, though has a less than stellar goal-scoring record, has played a lot of football by the age of 24.

Madine spent the season on loan at Coventry and then Blackpool, scoring 6 games in 26 games. Blues are looking for a target man to replace Nikola Zigic, though it appears they may have to look elsewhere.

Bolton are looking to replace Emile Heskey and thought Gary Madine would be the perfect replacement and look set to sneak in ahead of Blues.

Blues may have to find another striker, though they confirmed the capture of Alex Jones yesterday, with Jay Emmanuel-Thomas being quite heavily linked with a St. Andrews switch.
