Meetings over loan players

Arriving in a blaze of glory, leaving in a spluttering cloud of smoke, that’s what happened to the Leeds United loanees from the 2014/15 season. Highly-rated Zan Benedicic played 12 minutes, got injured and was never seen again. Dario del Fabro never got on the field for the first team. Highly-rated Adryan played the most but petered out and never saw the end of the season. Brian Montenegro scored a hat full in the U21s but hardly got a pocket full of first team minutes. Italian website tuttomercatoweb has said that an appointment will be set next week to ascertain and finalise the futures of Adryan and Dario del Fabro. The website said that,

“Next week sporting director Nicola Salerno will meet President Cellino to take stock of the situation. THe manager [Cellino] is expected to stay in England. Should [they] not remain instead defende Dario Del Fabro [will become] property of Cagliari and Adryan will return to Flamengo. In both cases, Leeds look set not to redeem the players.”

So, with that in mind, it looks likely that Leeds strategy appears to be in another direction when it comes to the proverbial ‘starlets’.

Former Sturm manager to stay shtum on Cellino

Darko Milanic, the former Sturm Graz manager and 32-day stay in the Leeds United hotseat, has so far refused to comment on Leeds’ owner Massimo Cellino. He also stated that he remains ready, willing and able to return to the Elland Road hotseat if required to do so. Currently out of work, the Slovenian will not be tempted into sticking the boot into the Leeds owner, despite a section of Leeds fans not being 100% in agreement with Cellino. Asked by Slovenian website Ekipa 24 to comment on his time at Elland Road and on Cellino, Milanic declined to do so. When further pushed that others might be the ones to comment on his [Milanic’s] time at Leeds, the former manager said,

“I will not, because I am bound by my signature.”

This implies that Milanic, rather than being sacked outright, is on extended ‘gardening leave’. This set of circumstances was almost confirmed by Milanic’s explanation that, under the terms of his contract, he has to make himself ready in case he is called on by the Whites. If this is the case then his lawn will be green and well-tended.

Under the counter DVDs – Elland Road special

It really is a circus up at Elland Road, everyone knows that, it’s not as it the craziness at Leeds United is hidden. Nope, it’s all there on display for all to see. Now it seems there is another one to add to the list of madness that is Elland Road with news that the club have employed ‘Andrea’ – a ‘spy’ at the club who used to allegedly sell furniture in Miami and who was polite and helpful to Cellino’s wife.

If there is any modicum of anything about this tale and ‘Andrea’ is the new scout at Elland Road then I guess the club will be dib, dib, dibbing into the transfer market soon.
