Young Star Set To Leave Blues

Koby Arthur has turned down a new contract and he will leave Blues at the end of his current deal this summer.

The young forward broke into the first team but has found his chances limited and is looking to find first team football elsewhere.

The Ghana-born teenager is highly thought of at St. Andrews and his departure will likely come as a disappointment to Rowett and his team.

After impressing on loan at Cheltenham and scoring some vital goals, he was recalled by Blues and has made 12 appearances in the Championship. He started the first few games of Rowett’s reign before Demarai Gray forced himself into the team.

A nimble, energetic player, Koby Arthur can play on either flank or in a central role and has shown he has plenty of ability, but there are question marks over his physicality and work ethic. He struggled to impose himself on games, though with first team football that could change.

I hope I speak on behalf of a lot of Bluenoses when I say that I wish him the best for the future. I can understand why he wants to leave but I have to admit, I am disappointed to see him leave.
