Man United keeping tabs on Ipswich’s young talent

Manchester United are reportedly interested in a deal for Ipswich midfielder Teddy Bishop, after scouting the youngster several times this season.

A scout was in place at Ewood Park for the Tractor Boys final game of the season against Blackburn, with Bishop playing 84 minutes until he was substituted.

In his debut season for The Blues, Bishop has gone on to make 34 appearances, scoring one goal and contributing five assists.

Drawing much praise for his performances which belied his tender age of 18, Bishop was called up to the England U19 setup, although he had to withdraw from the squad because of injury.

Man United have a good track record at bringing through young English players, with Chris Smalling, Tyler Blackett and James Wilson all featuring regularly for the Red Devils this season.

Bishop’s season will need to continue in the same vein of form as he has shown this year, as Ipswich enter the play-offs playing Norwich City in the always-feisty East Anglian derby.
