Forest’s joint-top scorer a target for Premier League clubs

Nottingham Forest’s pacey winger Michail Antonio has been linked to several different Premier League clubs, including Aston Villa and Swansea City.

Topping Forest’s scoring sheets with 15 goals, along with striker Britt Assombalonga, Antonio also tops Forest’s assist charts – contributing 12 throughout the season.

In what has been the most prolific season of his career, Antonio has thrived under Dougie Freedman in his debut season with The Reds.

Having played for seven teams already in his career, Antonio has won promotion from the Championship with Reading in the 2011-12 season, and won the Football League Trophy back in 2009-10.

With Villa and Swansea both struggling for goals and creativity this season, a move Forest’s skilful winger could well happen with Antonio never having played in the Premier League before.

A mediocre season has seen Forest finish the season in 14th place, despite them being inside the automatic promotion places for nine weeks at the start of the season.
