Celtic star a target for Bournemouth

Following their promotion Bournemouth are already looking forward to the summer and making new signings, with Celtic’s Charlie Mulgrew a high priority for Eddie Howe.

Scottish international Mulgrew has been with The Hoops since 2010, playing over 100 times for the Scottish Premier League Champions.

A 3-time SPL Winner, as well as winning the Scottish Cup twice, Mulgrew has vast experience in winning teams, but has been limited to 18 appearances this term.

Mulgrew has already played in England, having stints with Wolves and Southend between 2006 and 2008, although the Scotsman found playing time limited with both of these clubs.

Personal accolades haven’t been hard to come by for the versatile central midfielder, winning SPL Player of the Year for the 2011-12 season, the SPFA Player of the Year for 2011-12, and being awarded Celtic’s Player of the Year for the same season.

His versatility is a huge asset which could sway Eddie Howe when making a decision on Mulgrew, as the Glasgow-born player regularly slots in at left-back and centre-back.

With Mulgrew entering the final year of his contract at Celtic Park, a knock-down price could be realistic prospect if Bournemouth were to pursue a transfer.
