Jimmy Dack has ruled himself out of the running for the Newport County Managerial position.
The 42 year old, who has been in temporary charge since Justin Edinburgh left The Ironsides for Gillingham in February, told the board “he does not want to be considered” for the role.
This comes following news that former England International Terry Butcher is in the frame to take the position at Rodney Parade.
Newport are currently 9th in the League Two Table and look set for a third consecutive season in the bottom tier of the Football League, since promotion from the Conference in 2013.
The Club have said they are keen for “an appointment to be made as soon as possible so that plans can begin in ernest for next season.”
