Derby looking to sign young English star permanently

Following his brace in the thrilling 4-4 draw away at Huddersfield, Derby boss Steve McClaren has spoken about his hope of securing Tom Ince on a permanent contract after his loan spell expires.

Joining the Rams in February on loan from Premier League side Hull, Ince has flourished under McClaren’s management and has helped Derby to securing a play-off play in the Championship.

Playing 16 times, and netting ten goals in his short stay, Ince’s impact at Pride Park has been more than impressive – something which the manager hopes he can hold onto for next season.

McClaren, when asked about Ince, stated; “I think he’s been good for us and we’ve been good for him. I haven’t spoken to Steve Bruce yet but we’d like to keep him.”

“If we hadn’t got Tom Ince and others in January we wouldn’t be in the top six. He has scored goals and created them and is my type of player.”

Currently four points inside the play-offs with two games to go, Derby’s fate is in their own hands as one win from either of those two games would cement their play-off position.

Ince already has Premier League experience having played in England’s elite division with both Crystal Palace and Hull City, and the Rams will be hoping he’s playing with them there next term.
