Hull targeting England hot shot Mowatt

Steve Bruce’s Hull City are eagerly in pursuit of Leeds United youngster Alex Mowatt according to the Daily Mail.

Having been linked with West Ham earlier in the year, it is now the Tigers who seem most keen to acquire the talented Englishman.

In what has been, to say the least, a troubled season for Leeds, Mowatt has been a shining light in the side, contributing nine goals so far this term as well as chipping in with a few assists.

At the age of just 20, the Doncaster-born midfielder has already played over 60 games for The Whites, and has also been capped at both U19 and U20 levels for England.

Having sent scouts to watch Mowatt in action on Monday night away at Wolves, Hull will no doubt be impressed with the versatile midfielder’s performance, scoring a stunning goal which nearly earned his side a point.

Avoiding relegation will be key for Steve Bruce if he is to sign Mowatt, as it is unlikely Leeds Young Player of the Year for 2013-14 will want to leave for another Championship side having been at Elland Road since the age of 9.
