Cardiff player could Turner corner on road to recovery

_63730217_benturner_getCardiff centre-back Ben Turner could be in line for involvement in the Bluebirds line-up for the first time since injury in January. Turner has been sidelined with damaged ankle ligaments since the meeting with Bolton and, ironically, his return could very well be against them this coming Monday in the last round of Easter fixtures. Cardiff boss Russell Slade has revealed that Turner has recovered quickly and could very well be in his thoughts for the matchday 18.

Before his injury, the 26-year old defender had made 10 Championship appearances in Cardiff’s colours, playing the full 90 minutes in each of these games and comes with 31 appearances in the Premier League last season. The following are his returns from this season:

  • Tackles: 21 tackles (84% success rate)
  • Interceptions: 12 opponent passes intercepted
  • Clearances: 76 clearances made
  • Blocks made: 12 blocks made (10 shots, 1 cross, 1 pass)
  • Aerial: 21 contested headers (51.90% success rate)

Other Cardiff news

Cardiff could very well be missing a handful of players for this vital Easter match up with Bolton. Strikers Alex Revell and ex-Manchester United player Federico Macheda missed the 1-1 draw with Reading and continue to be under the scrutiny of the Bluebird’s backroom medical staff. The Bolton game also comes too early for long-term injury absentees Kagisho Digacoi and Anthony Pilkington.
