“Derby can still achieve promotion”

Derby County midfielder Jeff Hendrick believes it is not too late, and that Derby can still get promotion to the Premier league, this season.

He told the club’s official website “what has happened has gone now”, and that Derby are “ready to start again”.

Derby have surprisingly dipped in form, and are now 5th in the Championship.

“With the run we are on, the international break came at the right time for us. It was good to have a break and have a few days away from the training ground.”

Derby have not took 3 points from any game in their last 6, and up next for the Rams are 2nd placed Watford, who will be visiting the iPro Stadium on Good Friday in a late kick-off.

The 23-year old stressed the importance of forgetting what has happened over the last month, and to focus on the remainder of the season: “With the run we are on, the international break came at the right time for us. It was good to have a break and have a few days away from the training ground.”

“What has happened has gone and now we are ready to start again. The first game against Watford on Friday is going to be difficult, but all seven of them are going to be difficult and we have to make sure we are ready for what is to come.”
