Managers of the Month

Sean Dyche has won this twice in as many months, and rightly so. This October, Dyche’s Burnley moved top of the league, with a 100% record – meaning a month without dropping a point: what is more impressive is that it’s been achieved with only 1 goal being conceded. An impressive feat that may be set to continue.

In League 1, Steven Pressley’s side, Coventry City, has gained 13 of 15 points, winning 4/5 matches and drawing 1. Despite their early season issues, Coventry are within sight of a play-off place and fighting hard this season. A well deserved win for Pressley, and many for the Sky Blues.

Hartlepool have made the double alone side Burnley for League 2, as Colin Cooper takes the managerial award. 4 from 5 wins, with three clean-sheets is a strong foundation to build the rest of the season upon.

Players of the Month

Danny Ings also of Burnley is “fully deserving of this award” according to Dyche. Ings has now been called up for England’s U21. With 9 goals to his name this season so far, it’s set to be a great season – not only for Ings, but for the club.

League 1’s Patrick Bamford has 4 goals this month alone, being indispensable at Gillingham when scoring a brace. The Dons need all the help they can get, especially from this on-loan Chelsea striker, in order to make it into the Championship.

Luke James is the final awardee, Cooper has said of James that he has put a lot of work in since the start of the season, and has a fantastic attitude. Three goals contributed by James has allowed Hartlepool to move up 9 places this month, and look to extend. –
