Northampton Town have confirmed the signing of striker Alex Revell on a two-year contract. The experienced forward has played for MK Dons, Cardiff City and Wigan Athletic in recent seasons.
The 32-year-old is set to rejected offers from a host of Football League clubs to link up with the League Two champions, who are now managed by ex-Port Vale boss Rob Page.
The Cambridge-born forward has a wealth of experience to his name since coming through the ranks at his hometown club and making his senior debut in 2000.
Brighton & Hove Albion, Leyton Orient and Braintree Town are just a few more of the clubs that Revell has represented throughout his career.
His most successful stint came during his time at Rotherham, achieving back-to-back promotions in 2013 and 2014.
Speaking of his latest recruit, Page expressed his delight at bringing someone of Revell’s calibre to Sixfields,
“Alex is a fantastic signing for us and I am delighted to welcome him to the club
“He is a striker of proven quality and experience in League One and the Championship and his knowledge of that level will be a massive help to the squad.
“This is a big signing for the club, a statement from us and we have had to be patient but we have beaten off a lot of competition to secure Alex’s signature and I am sure he will be a big asset to us.
“I have spoken a lot about character being important, and Alex is exactly the type of character we want at the club.”
