Reading have today confirmed the signing of Chelsea youngster Nathan Ake on a month long loan deal.
The 20 year old has made appearances in the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup for Chelsea but the London club have made the decision for the Netherlands under 21 international to gain regular first team experience. Ake will join fellow Chelsea team-mate Nathaniel Chalobah as Steve Clarke takes advantage of his connections with his former club.
Clarke spoke positively about the signing of Ake when talking to the official Reading website “I’m delighted to add a player of Nathan’s quality to our first team squad at this important time of the season. He has been a fixture in Chelsea’s first team squad this season and we are grateful that Chelsea have allowed him to join us here at Reading to get some competitive minutes on the pitch. He is a very talented player who I have been aware of for some time”
