Notts County sack manager

Notts county have sacked  manager Shaun Derry and his assistant, Gregg Abbott, with immediate effect. Aileen Trew, chief executive of the club, reassured fans by saying that it was “one of the hardest decisions that we have ever had to make.” She also said “We know how much this club means to Shaun and Greg and we know how much hard work they had both put in during their time here. However, we have to make the decisions that we feel are in the best interests of the club and our perilous position in the table meant that we felt we needed to make a change.” Derry was named as manager in November 2013, and got the club away from relegation into League 2 in his first season. However, after winning just 3 of 24 league games since November, it has been deemed necessary to part company with Shaun Derry and Gregg Abbott.
