Symons Dismisses McCormack Rumours

Fulham boss Kit Symons has insisted that rumours that Ross McCormack is on his way out of the club are untrue.

Forward McCormack only signed in the summer but it has been a disappointing campaign for the Cottagers. McCormack has scored twelve goals since his arrival to the capital from Leeds United and has been made captain on several occasions.

However, despite signing a four year contract in July, reports emerged last week that title chasing Derby County are after his signature on loan. County are in the midst of a striker shortage and are keen to bolster their forward options with Chris Martin out injured.

They have been linked with Blackburn’s Jordan Rhodes but are now turning their attentions towards McCormack, allegedly. Symons though still wants to keep the 28-year-old Scotsman at the club and he told Sky Sports News:

“There will always be interest in Ross as he’s a very good player. But he won’t be going anywhere and we certainly won’t be letting him go out on loan as was mooted in some areas of the press.”

Fulham face McCormack’s former club Leeds on Wednesday, only six points from the relegation zone.
