Wigan Athletic have today confirmed the loan of Norwich City winger Josh Murhpy on a one month deal.

The 20-year-old has scored three times in 20 appearances for the Canaries this season, but appears to have fallen out of favour with Alex Neil.

Along with Wigan’s other other recruit of the day, Jerome Sinclair from Liverpool, Murphy goes straight into the Latic’s squad to face Watford at the DW Stadium.

Speaking to Wigan Today, boss Malky Mackay said:

“Josh will be another great addition to what is still a small squad here,” said boss Malky Mackay.

“He is a great young talent and we thank Norwich for allowing this to happen.

“Hopefully Josh can make a successful contribution during his time with us and we’re delighted to have him on board.”

This will be the winger’s first loan move away from Carrow Road, having risen through the youth ranks at Norwich City, but hasn’t featured in the Canaries’ match day squad since the 4th March, in a defeat to Wigan Athletic.

With Murphy and Sinclair now on board, Mackay’s men will be eager to continue their rich vein of form which has seen them win three of their last four as they continue their fight against relegation.
