Sheffield United manager Nigel Clough has said that although the top 2 are out of sight and his team are suffering a bit of a blip in form at the moment, he’s comforted by his side’s exploits away from Bramall Lane. Clough told BladesPlayer “the performances at Notts County and Rochdale, and the way we controlled the game at Crawley although we didn’t win, have been very encouraging”

A run of 5 points from 5 games has seen the Blades slip to 13 points behind Preston in the automatic promotion spots. However, United are unbeaten in their last 4 away games including an impressive 3-1 win at leaders Bristol City.

Next up for Sheffield United is an away trip to 17th placed Scunthorpe United. Clough will be hoping to increase the gap between his side and 7th place, to cement their place in the play-offs.
