Bournemouth midfielder earns international call-up

Martin O’Neill has called AFC Bournemouth midfielder Harry Arter into his Republic of Ireland squad for their European Qualifier against Poland on March 29.

Arter has represented his country in the U17 squad and the U19 squad. Republic of Ireland boss O’Neill said: “He is having a very good season. I think, yeah, why not? It would be nice to have a look at him.

“This might be a surprise to him as I didn’t say anything to him. He will hopefully be pleasantly surprised.”

He also quoted that he ‘wants to introduce another fresh face’.

The initial 35-man party will be reduced before the players meet up seven days ahead of the match.
